Harrison (Th.D., Facult� Libre de Th�ologie Evang�lique, Vaux sur Seine, France) is professor of New Testament at the West Africa Alliance Seminary in C�te d’Ivoire and has served for 34 years as a missionary, pastor, and professor in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Burkina Faso, and C�te d’Ivoire.

Overwhelmed by the Spirit

This book by Randall Harrison is a detailed, balanced study on the Holy Spirit. He carefully develops his argument by comparing how Luke and Paul's terminologies describe the work and person of the third person of the Trinity. His conclusions are sound and could help to diffuse so much of the polarisation in today's discussions on the Holy Spirit.

Balanced Biblical Study on the Holy Spirit

As avid readers, my wife and I were especially enlightened and impressed with the ease with which we were able to garner the Biblical principles presented. This book is definitely equivalent to any text book that was required for my Master's study. We would wholeheartedly recommend it for those who have questions about the work of the Holy Spirit today. The hard work of research has been done for us.

Well worth the time

I found this book to be a wonderful study of the Holy Spirit and how Luke in particular speaks about Him in his quotations from OT scriptures and from John the Baptist, Jesus, and Paul.
It was a real eye-opener for me to receive more clarity as to what, for example, John the Baptist meant when he referred to baptism of the Spirit over and against what Jesus meant when he turned these same words to more accurate (and more merciful!) ends.
I perhaps should not merely finish the book (I'm nearly there) but also re-read it, so as to provide a more concise summary of what I have gained from it, but I wanted to get these thoughts down now and encourage others to read it.
