All the stats, the numbers that had governed my life for the last two decades, they were just a few hundred yards from being stilled for ever. My whole career, my whole adult life, had been built on making those numbers click upwards as fast as I could, but in a couple of furlongs they would never move again. Deciding to retire was the most difficult decision I've ever had to make. Fortunately I was able to go out at the very top, and being able to say that makes me a very, very lucky man indeed. And now, in this book, I've been able to look back over my entire career - both good and bad moments - and see it in its entirety: the biggest wins, the disappointments, the injuries and the tragedies, my wonderful family, and the amazing horses and the fantastic personalities I've worked with. 18,000 people turned up to that final race at Sandown, and I can now look back on my career with immense pride and gratitude. But that chapter of my life is closed. This book is the final word on my riding career - it's time to move forward.

I knew when I began reading Understanding the Crystal People that I was supposed to be reading it because my body filled with energy and my vibration definitely increased. In addition, a happiness came over me that felt as though I was being welcomed home again. I really had a hard time putting the book down. I wanted to just keep reading.
It was as though Genn John had written this book just for me.
She has loved and worked with crystals since she was a child, under the guidance and caring eyes of her grandparents. There is no better way to learn respect of one of God’s precious gifts to us!
She discusses how crystals are formed and removed from the earth. She teaches about their purpose and how helpful they can be in our lives. She explains how to clean, clear, and program crystals for your benefit. In doing so she clearly communicates the respect that these sentient beings deserve.
I highly recommend Understanding the Crystal People!

This book is so easy to read and full of information. I've learned so much from this book. Genn John also has a great blog and beautiful Arkansas Quartz Crystals for adoption on her site. I highly recommend this book.

I just got my (signed!) copy of Understanding The Chrystal People in the mail today, and am very excited to have it. Already I'm learning a great deal I didn't know about crystals. For some reason crystals have always had a very strong appeal to me. I love to have one in my pocket, like to have them around and near me, I totally love to get out and dig for them. In particular I love quartz and topaz crystals. The right crystal can give us some very powerful energy and focus. The author, Glenn, will guide you on exactly how to find the crystal(s) that are perfect for you.
Glenn John has for many years now been deep into the study of crystals and how they affect and interact with people. Her understanding of crystals is way, way beyond that of most of us collectors. The print in her new book is large and easy to read; the illustrations are clear and good; the writing is clean, fun, informative, and concise, and at all times quite readable.
In a very real way crystals are so very unique, each one is one of a kind...each crystal is a bit different than all the others....much like us. Crystals are, as Glenn writes, "sentient beings," or as I'd put it, they're magic!
This book would make a great gift for anyone interested in holistic healing, in alternative medicine, or for anyone who enjoys learning something new and different. Highly recommended!

Taking inspiration from East Syrian exegesis, the treatise transforms the heritage of classical cosmography into a new, Christian image of the universe. Because images are an inherent part of the argument, the Christian Topography offers a unique insight into how the relationship between word and image was constructed and how the potential of these two media was understood. Until now, however, the text and illustrations have almost always been discussed separately. Consequently the unity of the work has been disrupted and our understanding of the treatise distorted. Taking into consideration both the text and the miniatures, this book seeks to further our understanding of the Christian Topography and its intellectual milieu, and to clarify the role of the images in late antique polemics.

I do like this book. I wouldn't call it an easy read, but it's full of detail and I like that. I love Paul, his devotion to Jesus, his total surrender, his tenacity, etc. Good book if you are looking for historical facts and information.

I'm about half way thru this book. It is filled with info you need to know: the history of the early church; Roman politics, laws; what the Sanhedrin could/could not do; political/theological battles between the Pharisee and the Saducees; politics of Stephens death; theological dilemma of Paul (pre Damascus) if Jesus was the Messiah yet was crucified/hung on a tree; development of the early Christian theology. Every page has something intensely interesting to we Christians. Really makes Acts come alive. Really helps illuminate some of Paul's writings when you understand what was going on at the time and why he was defending himself at times. Exciting, interesting, keep your bible open and be ready for an adventure.
