The Salesman and the Farmer?

The first clue this was a book to read was the title! I was intrigued from the start, what could the salesman and the farmer have in common? I was not disappointed. From the start the book gripped my attention and I didn't put it down until I had read from cover to cover. As I finished this book in tears, I knew it was just the ticket to catipult my career once again. Working in sales in this economic climate requires seeking out new ideas and advanced thinking to reach the hidden key to success. In this book J. Logan Arnold has captured the essence of real life, real work, and the key to being successful no matter the subject of your personal goals. The Salesman and the Farmer were an intrigal part of each others lives in a most unsuspecting way. With this valuable sales-tool/novel in hand, my world holds no boundrys. Thank you Mr. Arnold for sharing your knowledge of success and life.

A Classic--The best self-mastery book we've seen!

We bought a copy of this book when it was first published and have since gifted many copies to friends and family. This book now sits on our shelf of classics. We especially appreciate books written in this style; that is, inspiring fact based novels that take the reader on an interesting journey of discovery, while teaching life skills that can turn on the reader's success virtually anywhere the reader chooses to apply those tools.
We find the book to be particularly effective as the book of choice to read following, The Slight Edge, by Jeff Olsen. However, where Jeff suggests making a life choice of reading at least 10 pages a day in a good (life improving) book, The Salesman and the Farmer is a `page turner' that compels reading more than that each time you pick it up.
In fact, there were so many life skill tools shared in this book that as soon as we (my wife and I) finished reading it for its stories sake, we each read it again taking notes on the farmer's suggestions.
We also suggest: To Win or To Wiggle? (by the same author); It's Not About You, by Bob Burg; The Go-Giver, also by Bob Burg; and, The Greatest Networkers in the World, by John Milton Fogg, all of which are excellent books to follow up with after you read The Salesman and the Farmer.

Fiction or Fact?

This book reminds me of The Secret, or The Spirituality of Success. This book makes the idea of picturing your successful life in story form. You follow a salesperson through the process of not living his best potentially, to living his best potential. It is an easy read and I am glad I read it. Like some books that I have read, I will pass it on to a friend and hope that he can get something out it also. I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars but that is not possible because of Amazon's rating system.
